Cap bell-shaped when young then convex, deliquescing with age. Smooth greyish white cap up to 6 cm high with stems to 10 cm high.

Gills white at first, then brown and blackening from the outer margin Typically grow in clusters in grass and woody debris.

Sightings:
Photographed October 7, 2004 on the east side of the Bridle Path a few meters north of the junction with Tatlow Trail.
