Family Description
Small, compact insect eaters that specialize in gleaning insects from bark on the vertical surfaces of tree trunks. Creepers always "hitch-up" a tree trunk moving in a spiral propped by their stiff tail feathers. Note the slender, curved bill used to probe for food under bark.
