![]() Fly Agaric A mat of fungus mycelium responds to the autumn rains by forming numerous fruiting bodies better known as mushrooms. This Amanita muscaria fungus grows in partnership with birch trees. It shares soil nutrients and water with the tree in return for sugars produced in the leaves of the tree.
