Swallowtail Butterfly A sure sign of the arrival of summer is the appearance of swallowtail butterflies. These long-distance migrants move north with the advancement of spring. The arrival of the swallowtails is timed to coincide with the appearance of a host of 'butterfly' flowers. The butterfly bush is an example of an introduced species that adds to the park's biodiversity and provides a crucial food resource for the park's butterfly and nectar feeding species.
